Who we are & how it started!

This whole thing? Started because I wanted to make a little extra money. Not "quit-my-job" cash—just enough to cover Christmas and birthdays .

So one day a coworker said “Man I wish we had some decent jerky.” That weekend I was in my garage. Nothing special: cheap cuts, some soy sauce, and a couple other ingredients. Thought, "Hey, jerky sells. Maybe I'll flip a few bags." It did! suddenly I was the Jerky guy at work.

First batch came out pretty good- sticky, sweet, and savory way better than anything from the store. I handed one to a buddy—he ate half before he finished talking. Next weekend, I doubled it. Added ghost pepper because why not? Half my friends cursed me out, the other half begged for more.

Wasn't a plan. Wasn't "vision." Just... people kept showing up asking when I was going to make more, "You got the teriyaki?" I'd shrug—"Yeah, but it's gone fast."

Turns out, I wasn't just hustling jerky—I was building something. Small-batch, handmade, no junk, just Flavors that hit hard and stick around.

I became a nurse and didn’t need the side hustle anymore, covid hit, vaccination wasn’t for me, and I found a new career path with an amazing company.

Now Vibe Jerky's still me just a bit more professional and just with lighting, but the line's longer. And honestly? I'm still surprised and we’re very thankful for the support. - Doug Hobson
